The Tribunal Penal Internacional, or International Criminal Court (ICC), is a global court established to prosecute individuals for serious crimes like genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. It was created in 2002 by the Rome Statute and is based in The Hague, Netherlands. The ICC aims to hold accountable those who commit these grave offenses, especially when national courts are unable or unwilling to do so.
