Thoroughbred
A thoroughbred is a specific breed of horse known for its speed, agility, and endurance, primarily used in horse racing. Originating in the 17th and 18th centuries in England, thoroughbreds are descended from three foundation sires: the Darley Arabian, the Godolphin Arabian, and the Byerley Turk. They are characterized by their athletic build, long legs, and slender frames. Thoroughbreds are also recognized for their competitive spirit and intelligence, making them excellent racehorses. Beyond racing, they are also used in various equestrian disciplines. The breed is registered and recognized by organizations like the Jockey Club.
