equine development
Equine development refers to the growth and maturity of horses, from foals to adults. It involves several stages: foals are born and rely on their mothers for nutrition; they begin to stand and walk within hours. As they grow, they learn social skills and physical coordination. By weaning at around six months, they transition to solid food. From one to three years, horses continue to develop strength, agility, and social behaviors. Training often begins during this time, preparing them for specific roles, such as work or sport, as they reach their physical and mental maturity around four to five years.
