The War of the Roses

The War of the Roses was a series of conflicts fought in England from 1455 to 1487 between two noble houses: the Lancasters, symbolized by a red rose, and the Yorks, symbolized by a white rose. These battles were mainly about control of the English throne and were marked by shifting alliances and betrayals. The war ended with the rise of the Tudor dynasty when Henry VII, a Lancaster, defeated the last Yorkist king at the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485. This pivotal conflict significantly shaped English history, leading to a period of relative stability and the establishment of the Tudor era.
