Perkin Warbeck
Perkin Warbeck was an important historical figure in the late 15th century, known for claiming to be Richard Plantagenet, the rightful heir to the English throne. Richard was one of the princes allegedly murdered in the Tower of London, and Warbeck's assertion sparked intrigue and support, particularly from foreign courts. His attempts to seize power culminated in several uprisings against King Henry VII. Ultimately, Warbeck's claim was deemed fraudulent; he was captured and executed in 1499. His story reflects the tumultuous politics of England during the Wars of the Roses, illustrating the era's struggles over legitimacy and power.
