The Shafi'i School
The Shafi'i School is one of the four main schools of thought in Sunni Islam, founded by the scholar Imam Al-Shafi'i in the 9th century. It emphasizes the importance of the Quran, the Hadith (sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad), consensus among scholars, and analogical reasoning (qiyas) in interpreting Islamic law (Sharia). Known for its systematic approach to jurisprudence, the Shafi'i School has a significant following, particularly in East Africa, Southeast Asia, and parts of the Arabian Peninsula, shaping religious practices and legal rulings in those regions.
