The Gestalt Principles
Gestalt Principles refer to the ways our brains organize visual information into meaningful patterns and shapes. Key principles include similarity (grouping similar items together), proximity (perceiving objects close to each other as a group), continuity (seeing lines and shapes as continuing in a smooth fashion), closure (filling in gaps to form a complete image), and figure-ground (distinguishing objects from their background). These principles help us make sense of complex visuals by enabling us to perceive a whole rather than just individual parts.
