The Color Spectrum
The color spectrum refers to the range of colors that can be seen by the human eye, generated by light. When light passes through a prism, it splits into a continuum of colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. These colors correspond to different wavelengths of light, with red having the longest wavelength and violet the shortest. The spectrum is often depicted in a rainbow, illustrating how colors blend into one another. Beyond visible light, there are also infrared and ultraviolet rays, which we cannot see but are part of the broader electromagnetic spectrum.
