TDM (Time Division Multiplexing)

Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) is a method used to transmit multiple signals over a single communication channel by dividing the time on that channel into segments. Each signal is assigned a specific time slot when it can send its data, allowing many signals to share the same medium without interference. This technique enables efficient use of bandwidth and is widely used in telecommunications, such as in phone networks, where different conversations can occur simultaneously without overlapping. TDM ensures that all signals get their turn to communicate in an organized manner.
