Tariqa

Tariqa refers to a spiritual path or school of Sufism, which is a mystical branch of Islam. It emphasizes personal experience of the divine through practices such as meditation, chanting, and moral discipline. Each tariqa has its own teachings and rituals, guided by a spiritual leader or teacher known as a Sheikh. Practitioners, called Sufis, seek to deepen their relationship with God, cultivate inner purity, and foster compassion. Tariqas also promote community and solidarity among members, often incorporating poetry and music as expressions of devotion.
