Islamic Mysticism
Islamic mysticism, known as Sufism, emphasizes a personal, experiential connection with God. Sufis seek to attain spiritual closeness through practices like prayer, meditation, and music (such as chanting or the use of instruments). They believe in transcending the ego and worldly distractions to experience divine love and truth. Sufism highlights themes of unity, love, and the inner journey toward understanding oneself and God. Many Sufi orders have unique rituals and teachings, but all share the goal of deepening one’s spiritual relationship and discovering the inner dimensions of Islamic faith.
