Talaat Pasha

Talaat Pasha was a prominent Ottoman statesman and one of the key architects of the Armenian Genocide during World War I. He served as the Minister of Interior and was a leading figure in the ruling Committee of Union and Progress, which sought to modernize and centralize the Ottoman Empire. His policies aimed at national unity often resulted in severe repression of ethnic minorities, notably the Armenians, whose population faced mass deportations and killings. Talaat's actions have left a lasting impact on Turkish-Armenian relations and are widely studied in discussions of genocide and human rights.
