Summation notation

Summation notation, often represented by the Greek letter sigma (Σ), is a mathematical way to express the addition of a series of numbers efficiently. Instead of writing out each number to add, you can use this notation to indicate the starting point, ending point, and the rule for generating the numbers. For example, Σ from i=1 to n of i means you add all integers from 1 up to n. This notation simplifies complex calculations, making it easier to understand and compute totals, especially in statistics, finance, and various scientific fields.
