Stupp Protocol
The Stupp Protocol is a treatment plan for glioblastoma, a type of aggressive brain tumor. It combines two main approaches: surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible, followed by radiation therapy and chemotherapy using a drug called temozolomide. This combination aims to maximize tumor control and extend survival. The protocol is named after Dr. Roger Stupp, who helped develop this approach, which has become a standard care method for newly diagnosed glioblastoma patients, focusing on improving outcomes while managing side effects.
