Stress Incontinence

Stress incontinence is a condition where a person experiences involuntary leakage of urine during activities that put pressure on the bladder, such as laughing, coughing, sneezing, or exercising. This happens when the pelvic floor muscles and the sphincter (the muscle that controls urine flow) become weakened, often due to childbirth, aging, or certain medical conditions. It’s more common in women, but men can experience it as well. While it can be embarrassing, there are treatments available, ranging from pelvic exercises and lifestyle changes to medical interventions, that can help manage or alleviate the symptoms.
