Stefan Rowecki

Stefan Rowecki was a Polish general and a prominent leader in the Polish resistance during World War II. Born in 1895, he became known for his role in organizing the underground military force known as the Home Army, which aimed to fight against Nazi occupation. Rowecki was instrumental in coordinating efforts to resist the Germans and support the Allied forces. Unfortunately, he was arrested by the Gestapo in 1943 and later executed. Rowecki is remembered as a national hero in Poland for his bravery and commitment to the country's freedom during a challenging period in history.
