Speech act taxonomy

Speech act taxonomy is a framework that categorizes the ways we use language based on the intended purpose of our statements. It divides speech acts into three main types: 1. **Locutionary acts**: the actual utterance or words spoken. 2. **Illocutionary acts**: the intended meaning or purpose behind the words, such as making a request, giving an order, or making a promise. 3. **Perlocutionary acts**: the effect those words have on the listener, such as persuading, convincing, or informing. Understanding this taxonomy helps clarify how communication functions in social interactions.
