Spanish Senate
The Spanish Senate is the upper house of Spain's Parliament, known as the Cortes Generales. It plays a key role in the legislative process, reviewing and amending laws proposed by the lower house, the Congress of Deputies. Senators are elected to represent Spain's regions, with the aim of ensuring regional interests are considered in national legislation. The Senate also has powers regarding budget approvals, treaties, and appointments of certain officials. Its structure allows for a balance of power and regional representation in the Spanish political system, complementing the work of the Congress.
