
Sir John Bagot Glubb
Sir John Bagot Glubb (1897–1986) was a British general and historian known for his leadership of the Arab Legion, the military of Jordan, during the mid-20th century. He played a significant role in the Arab-Israeli conflict and the establishment of Jordan's military under King Abdullah I. Glubb also wrote extensively on the history of the Middle East and the rise and fall of civilizations, particularly in his work "The Fate of Empires."
