Glubb Pasha, born in 1897, was a British soldier and influential figure in Jordan during the mid-20th century. His real name was John Bagot Glubb, and he is best known for leading the Arab Legion, the military force of Jordan, from 1939 until 1956. He played a significant role in shaping Jordan’s military and political landscape, particularly during the Arab-Israeli conflict. Glubb Pasha was respected for his leadership and strategies, but his tenure ended controversially when he was dismissed by King Hussein due to political changes in Jordan. His writings also contributed to historical understanding of the region.
