Shot put
Shot put is a track and field event where athletes throw a heavy spherical object, called a shot, as far as possible. The shot is typically made of metal and weighs 7.26 kg (16 lbs) for men and 4 kg (8.8 lbs) for women. Competitors use a technique that involves pushing the shot from within a designated area, usually a circular platform. They must maintain balance while utilizing strength, technique, and explosive power. The distance the shot travels is measured from the edge of the throwing area to the nearest mark made on the ground, determining the winner.
