Septoplasty
Septoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at correcting a deviated septum, which is the cartilage and bone structure that divides the nasal cavity. A deviated septum can cause breathing difficulties, chronic sinus infections, and other nasal issues. In the surgery, the surgeon repositions or removes the excess tissue to straighten the septum, improving airflow and overall nasal function. Often performed under local or general anesthesia, septoplasty can significantly enhance a person's quality of life by making breathing easier and reducing nasal obstruction. Recovery typically involves some swelling and tenderness, but many return to normal activities within a week.
