Schönlein-Henoch Purpura

Schönlein-Henoch Purpura (SHP), also known as IgA vasculitis, is a type of small blood vessel inflammation that primarily affects children. It causes red or purple spots on the skin (purpura), usually on the legs and buttocks, as well as joint pain, abdominal pain, and sometimes kidney problems. The exact cause is not fully understood, but it often follows a viral infection. SHP typically resolves on its own, but treatment may be necessary for more severe symptoms. Most children recover fully without long-term effects.
