IgA Vasculitis

IgA vasculitis, also known as Henoch-Schönlein purpura, is a rare condition where small blood vessels become inflamed, leading to symptoms like purple spots on the skin, joint pain, abdominal pain, and sometimes kidney issues. It primarily affects children, but can occur in adults. The cause is not fully understood, but it involves an abnormal immune response, often following infections. Most cases resolve on their own, but treatment may be needed for severe symptoms. Early diagnosis and monitoring are important to prevent complications, especially regarding kidney function.
