Savery engine

The Savery engine, invented by Thomas Savery in 1698, is one of the earliest devices designed to harness steam power. It uses steam pressure to create a vacuum that can pump water. When steam is introduced into a chamber, it pushes water up through pipes. This invention was primarily used for draining mines, helping workers access deeper coal and mineral deposits. Although not very efficient by modern standards, the Savery engine laid the groundwork for future steam engines and the development of industrial machinery, significantly contributing to the Industrial Revolution.
