Patent
A patent is a legal right granted by the government to an inventor, giving them exclusive control over their invention for a specific period, usually 20 years. This means others cannot make, use, or sell the invention without permission. In return, the inventor must publicly disclose details about how the invention works, enabling others to learn from it. Patents encourage innovation by rewarding inventors for their creativity while eventually allowing the broader community to benefit from new ideas once the patent expires.
