Henry Woodward

Henry Woodward was a Canadian inventor, best known for co-inventing the electric light bulb in the late 19th century. Alongside his partner, he developed an early version of the bulb using carbon filaments, but he struggled to commercialize it successfully. His work laid important groundwork for future innovations in lighting. Although Thomas Edison is often credited with the invention of the light bulb due to his successful improvements and marketing, Woodward’s contributions to the technology were significant in the development of electric lighting. His patents and experiments helped shape the path for modern lighting solutions.
