Sardar Udham Singh
Sardar Udham Singh was an Indian revolutionary known for his role in the Indian freedom struggle against British colonial rule. Born in 1899, he is best remembered for assassinating Michael O'Dwyer in 1940 as an act of revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919, where British troops killed hundreds of unarmed Indian civilians. Singh aimed to draw attention to India’s plight and inspire others to join the independence movement. He was captured and executed in 1940, viewed by many as a martyr and symbol of the fight for India’s liberation from British rule. His legacy continues to inspire.
