Rani Padmini
Rani Padmini, also known as Rani Padmavati, was a legendary queen of the Rajput kingdom of Mewar in India during the 13th century. She is famously associated with her beauty and bravery, particularly in the context of the siege by Alauddin Khilji, the Sultan of Delhi, who was infatuated with her. To protect her honor and her kingdom, Padmini is said to have committed self-immolation (jauhar) along with her women, rather than be captured. Her story symbolizes courage, sacrifice, and the ideal of a noble warrior queen, and has been popularized through literature and films.
