Rajput history
Rajputs are a prominent warrior caste in India, primarily associated with the historical region of Rajasthan. Their origins date back to the 6th century, with claims of descent from ancient Kshatriya (warrior) clans. Celebrated for their bravery and chivalry, Rajputs established numerous kingdoms and dynasties, such as the Sisodia, Rathore, and Chauhan. They played a crucial role in resisting invasions, notably from the Mughals and later the British. The Rajput code of honor, known as "Rajputana," emphasized loyalty, valor, and sacrifice, shaping their cultural identity and leaving a lasting legacy in Indian history.
