Pregnancy-related Nausea and Vomiting (NVP)

Pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting (NVP), commonly known as morning sickness, affects many pregnant individuals, usually during the first trimester. It can cause feelings of nausea and lead to vomiting, triggered by hormonal changes, heightened sense of smell, and physical changes in the body. While often peaking around the 9th week of pregnancy, symptoms typically improve by the end of the first trimester. Although generally mild, some women may experience more severe forms, known as hyperemesis gravidarum, which can require medical attention. Managing NVP often involves dietary changes, hydration, and sometimes medication for relief.
