Power distance

Power distance is the degree to which people in a society accept and expect unequal distribution of power. In cultures with high power distance, hierarchy is clear, and authority is respected, with less questioning of leaders. Conversely, in low power distance cultures, people seek equality, challenge authority, and prefer flatter organizational structures. It influences workplace dynamics, communication styles, and social interactions, shaping how individuals relate to those above or below them in social or organizational hierarchies.
