Perceptual completion
Perceptual completion is a psychological phenomenon where our brains fill in gaps in what we see or hear, enabling us to perceive a complete image or sound. For example, if an object is partially obscured, we still recognize it as a whole based on our past experiences and understanding. Similarly, if a word is missing some letters, we can often guess what it is. This process allows us to make sense of our surroundings, even when information is incomplete, enhancing our ability to navigate and understand the world around us.
