path to citizenship

The path to citizenship typically involves several key steps for immigrants. First, a person usually needs to obtain a visa to enter the country legally. After living in the country for a certain number of years, they may apply for permanent residency, also known as a green card. Once they have been a permanent resident for a specific period, often five years, they can apply for citizenship. This process includes demonstrating good moral character, knowledge of the language and civics, and passing an interview. Upon approval, they take an oath of allegiance and become citizens.
