DREAM Act
The DREAM Act (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act) is proposed legislation aimed at providing a pathway for undocumented immigrants who arrived as youths to earn lawful status in the U.S. If enacted, it would allow qualified individuals—typically those who arrived as minors, completed education or served in the military—to apply for conditional permanent residency. The goal is to offer talented and hardworking young people access to education, work opportunities, and legal stability, enabling them to contribute fully to society without the fear of deportation. However, the DREAM Act has not yet become law.
