Panchayati Raj institutions

Panchayati Raj institutions are a system of decentralized governance in rural India, established to promote local self-government. They empower villages to make decisions about their own development, ensuring that the needs and interests of the community are addressed. This system consists of three tiers: the Gram Panchayat (village level), the Panchayat Samiti (block level), and the Zila Parishad (district level). Elected representatives at these levels work on various issues, such as health, education, and infrastructure, fostering democracy and participation among citizens while enhancing accountability and transparency in local governance.
