Pali Canon

The Pali Canon, also known as the Tipitaka, is the oldest complete collection of Buddhist scriptures, written in the Pali language. It comprises three main sections: the Vinaya (monastic rules), the Sutta (Buddha’s teachings and sermons), and the Abhidhamma (philosophical and doctrinal analysis). These texts serve as the foundational texts of Theravāda Buddhism, providing guidance on ethical conduct, meditation, and understanding the nature of reality. Preserved since around the 1st century BCE, the Pali Canon is highly respected and studied as the authentic teachings of the historical Buddha.
