Orangutan

Orangutans are large primates native to the tropical rainforests of Indonesia and Malaysia. They are known for their distinctive reddish-brown fur and long arms. As highly intelligent and social animals, orangutans primarily live in trees and spend most of their time in the canopy. They are omnivorous, feeding on fruits, leaves, and insects. Due to habitat loss and poaching, orangutans are critically endangered, with conservation efforts focusing on habitat preservation and rehabilitation of displaced individuals. Their unique behaviors and close genetic ties to humans make them important for understanding both wildlife conservation and evolutionary biology.
