Operation Sea Lion
Operation Sea Lion was Germany's planned invasion of Britain during World War II, proposed in 1940 after France's defeat. The operation aimed to establish control over Britain through a large-scale amphibious assault. However, it hinged on gaining air superiority, which the German Luftwaffe struggled to achieve during the Battle of Britain. The plan ultimately failed due to a combination of logistical challenges, Britain's robust defenses, and the British Royal Air Force's success in repelling German attacks. Consequently, Operation Sea Lion was never carried out, marking a significant turning point in the war.
