Olympus Mons (Mars)

Olympus Mons is the tallest volcano and the highest known mountain in our solar system, located on Mars. Rising about 13.6 miles (22 kilometers) high, it's nearly three times the height of Mount Everest. The volcano has a diameter of approximately 370 miles (600 kilometers), giving it a somewhat shield-like shape, formed by layers of lava flows. Olympus Mons is considered a "shield volcano" due to its broad, gentle slopes. Its colossal size and unique features provide insights into volcanic activity and the geological history of Mars, highlighting the planet's fascinating and complex landscape.
