NLD (National League for Democracy)

The National League for Democracy (NLD) is a political party in Myanmar (Burma), founded in 1988. It advocates for democracy and human rights, primarily led by Aung San Suu Kyi, a prominent figure in Myanmar's pro-democracy movement. The NLD gained significant support in the 2015 elections, leading to a historic transition to a civilian government after decades of military rule.
