Neural Oscillation

Neural oscillation refers to rhythmic or repetitive electrical activity in the brain. These oscillations occur when groups of neurons (brain cells) synchronize their firing patterns, similar to how musicians might play in time with a metronome. This rhythmic activity helps facilitate communication between different parts of the brain, playing a role in processes like attention, memory, and perception. Different types of oscillations, characterized by their frequency (measured in hertz), are linked to various cognitive functions and states of consciousness, such as relaxation, alertness, or sleep.
