Naval mine
A naval mine is an explosive device designed to be placed in water, typically in shipping lanes or near naval bases, to damage or sink enemy ships. There are two main types: contact mines, which explode when a vessel hits them, and influence mines, which detonate based on changes in water pressure, magnetic fields, or sound generated by a ship. Naval mines can be deployed from ships, submarines, or aircraft, making them effective for area denial and strategic defense in naval warfare. They pose significant risks to both military and commercial vessels in affected areas.
