National Women's Party

The National Women's Party (NWP) was an American political organization founded in 1916 that focused on securing women's rights, particularly the right to vote. Led by figures like Alice Paul, the NWP employed protests, marches, and hunger strikes to advocate for gender equality. The party played a vital role in the women's suffrage movement, which successfully culminated in the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920, granting women the right to vote in the United States. The NWP continued to promote women's issues, including equal rights legislation, well into the 20th century.
