National Recovery Administration (NRA)
The National Recovery Administration (NRA) was a U.S. government agency created in 1933 during the Great Depression as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal. Its goal was to stimulate economic recovery by promoting fair practices in industry, labor, and trade. The NRA encouraged businesses to establish codes of fair competition, set minimum wages, and reduce working hours. It aimed to improve labor conditions and boost consumer purchasing power. However, the NRA was declared unconstitutional in 1935, leading to a shift in New Deal policies but leaving a lasting impact on labor rights and economic regulation.
