Nanna (the moon god)
Nanna, also known as Sin, is the moon god in ancient Mesopotamian mythology. Revered primarily by the Sumerians and later the Akkadians, Babylonians, and Assyrians, Nanna represents not only the moon but also time and wisdom. He is often depicted as a wise figure who guides humanity, with cycles of the moon symbolizing the passage of time. Nanna's father is Enlil, the god of the air, and his sister is Inanna, the goddess of love and war. His worship included rituals and offerings to seek his favor and guidance in various aspects of life.
