Muscle Fiber Activation
Muscle fiber activation refers to the process by which nerve signals trigger muscle fibers to contract, enabling movement. When your brain sends a signal through nerves, it reaches muscle fibers, which respond by shortening and generating force. There are different types of muscle fibers: some are fast-twitch, providing quick bursts of energy but fatiguing quickly, while others are slow-twitch, designed for endurance. The balance and recruitment of these fibers depend on the activity and intensity, allowing us to perform various physical tasks, from sprinting to long-distance running.
