Movimiento 26 de Julio
Movimiento 26 de Julio, or the 26th of July Movement, was a revolutionary movement led by Fidel Castro in Cuba during the 1950s. It aimed to overthrow the dictatorial regime of Fulgencio Batista, which was marked by corruption and repression. The movement's name refers to the failed attack on the Moncada Barracks on July 26, 1953. After years of guerrilla warfare, the movement succeeded in 1959, leading to the establishment of a socialist government in Cuba. This event significantly influenced Cuba's political landscape and its relations with the United States and other countries.
