Mountain gorilla

Mountain gorillas are a subspecies of the Eastern gorilla, primarily found in the mountainous regions of central Africa, particularly in Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. They tend to live in groups led by a dominant silverback male. These gorillas are known for their thick fur, which helps them cope with the cooler mountain climate. They are herbivores, feeding mainly on leaves, stems, and fruits. Unfortunately, mountain gorillas are critically endangered due to habitat loss, poaching, and disease. Conservation efforts have been crucial in increasing their population in recent years, but they remain vulnerable.
