Moral Internalism
Moral Internalism is the idea that if you truly understand a moral obligation, you will naturally feel motivated to act according to it. In other words, knowing something is morally right should lead to a desire to do it. This view suggests that moral beliefs are linked to our motivations; if someone genuinely believes something is wrong, they should feel compelled to avoid it. Internalists argue that moral judgments are not just intellectual concepts but are connected to our emotional and motivational states, making morality an intrinsic part of our reasoning and decision-making.
